Pegasus Life are a provider of retirement properties for open market sales. Their developments comprise self-contained apartments with support facilities for residents, ranging from resident’s lounges and guest accommodation on smaller developments, up to fitness suites and restaurants on their larger schemes.
For this scheme, the client was keen to investigate alternative frame options for the development of 34 one and two-bedroom apartments, and following extensive evaluation, a Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) frame solution was selected. Whilst this approach had a higher capital cost than more traditional construction methods, it presented significant programme advantages enabling apartments to be marketed earlier than with a more traditional approach.
