We are delighted to confirm our appointment as Quantity Surveyor to support Birmingham Rep on a vital roofing project.
Over the past 12 months, we have worked as part of a wider design team through a rigorous process, developing the justification and technical detail required to secure funding from Arts Council England. We are pleased that £3 million has now been awarded to The Rep, enabling the project to progress into its next phase.
The design team has been reappointed to progress a fully coordinated design, with construction anticipated to commence in early 2027.
The project scope includes:
- Replacement of the existing concrete roof structure
- Installation of a new thermally efficient roofing system to improve the venue’s energy performance
- Installation of a new stage flying system, replacing the original installation from the theatre’s construction and significantly enhancing operational capability
It is fantastic to see funding secured for this much-needed scheme, which will help safeguard this iconic venue and ensure its continued success for future generations.
