A day of consultation and ideas sharing!
PMP are currently acting as cost consultants, working with Buttress Architects, on a feasibility study to identify options for the future of J.W. Evans Silver Factory, a site which lies in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter.
On Monday, members of the project team met for a planning day consisting of workshops, exploring various themes and ideas of how we can give the building a sustainable and viable long-term future, conserving its historic and cultural significance. Importantly, it was also a chance to meet representatives from English Heritage and key Design Team members, spending a day in the building, learning more about its historic fabric, and visualising how it can potentially operate.
Buttress Architects commented;
Options for the site will be informed by a series of consultation workshops with English Heritage and key stakeholders. The practice will also work with English Heritage to identify funding opportunities that will help make the site more accessible to new and existing audiences.
PMP are proud to be part of yet, another Jewellery Quarter project, and one that is integral to Birmingham’s manufacturing legacy! Watch this space for more news coming soon!
